Content about Motivation Ideas

Motivation ideas are the spice of life. This page on Make Marketing Easy curates content to help you stay motivated - even when you don’t feel like it!

Why Are Motivation Ideas Important?

Staying motivated is never-ending work. You know those days where you wake up and all you want to do is go back to sleep?

We all have them. Most important is that you press on, get out of bed, and do your work.

Have you ever had those days where they start out hard and everything feels like a grind? And then, slowly but surely, you get a few items checked off your list, you keep moving your feet, and all of a sudden you realize you’re making progress!

I love that feeling, and that’s being motivated. Coming up with motivation ideas is easier if you know what motivates you.

How I learned About Motivation Ideas

Growing up, my dad was an educator, and my mom was a nurse. From my dad, I learned about the importance of thinking. From my mom, I learned to “see what needs to be done.” I think these two notions shaped how motivation ideas came to me.

Motivation is personal. What motivates me, might not work for you. And that’s okay. Coming up with motivation ideas comes from self-analysis and awareness.

I made my way through the first 23 years of my life being motivated by wanting to succeed and make a lot of money. As an example, the first “motivational” book I read was Napoleon HIll’s “Think and Grow Rich.” (Affiliate Link)

Once I began my career, got married, and started raising a family, my motivation changed. Not massively, I still wanted to succeed and make money. But I began working harder and smarter for different reasons. I transitioned from selfish motivation to service motivation. Does that make sense?

And do you know what’s most interesting about that transition? Once I made it, things came easier. Going the extra mile was my norm, not the exception.

Don’t get me wrong. Just like you, I had hiccups along the way. And what’s true is that with the right motivation, you can overcome your challenges!

How Do You Stay Motivated During Hard Times?

If you’re like me, during the hard times is when finding motivation can be tricky. What works for me, and you might try for yourself, are gratitude lists. I wrote a story about this, it got published on the Success Magazine blog, and was shared more than 35,000 times!

It goes back to the service mentality. If I am in a bumpy time or turbulent situation, I ask myself these two questions:

Motivation Ideas Question One

What am I grateful for in my life? Write it all down. Writing it down is an important step. There’s some magic that happens when you transfer the grateful thought from your mind to the paper.

Question Two

What’s good about this situation that I might not be noticing? Once I left a job under difficult circumstances. When I was explaining what happened to another person, he said, “Trust me. In five years you’ll look back and think this was the best thing that ever happened to you. And maybe sooner than that.” He was right.

Where Might You Find Motivation Ideas?

You will begin to find more and more motivation ideas when you begin looking for them. Have you ever noticed when you start thinking about buying a certain new car, and you start seeing them on the road all around you?

There aren’t more there, it’s just your confirmation bias has changed. This will happen with motivation ideas, too!

In Conclusion

Motivation ideas are one of my favorite topics to write about. As a result, the content on this section of makemarketingeasy.com will grow. So if you ever need a little boost, check back and see what’s new here.
